It’s a topic we always love to talk about and it’s the piece in our wardrobe that we are forever expanding. What is it you ask? Well shoes of course!

And the topic becomes hotter this summer, as the V&A opens its exhibition, ‘Shoes: Pleasure And Pain’. Opening on 13th June 2015 and running until 31st January 2016, the exhibition will look at over 200 pairs of historic and iconic examples of extreme footwear from around the world. From papyrus sandals dating back to Ancient Egypt and 30BC to metallic boots from Miu Miu.

As well as getting to see the dazzling range of shoes, the exhibition also covers the cultural significance and transformative capacity of shoes and will examine the latest developments in footwear technology creating the possibility of ever higher heels and dramatic shapes!
