Though they might try to hide it, men have been pinching their female partners beauty products, moisturisers, toners and even shampoo’s.
But now we find ourselves switching and pinching men’s products!
Lloyd Hughes, Creative Director & Lead Educator of men-ü offers his top tips when it comes to male grooming for girls. Lloyd is a multi-salon owner and has been working in the male grooming industry for 30 years with 15 of those spent in education
Time to pinch your boyfriends grooming products
Many women will be familiar with discovering their favourite shampoo, moisturiser and maybe even cleanser has been ‘borrowed’ by their other halves. The good news for them is the grooming industry is booming like never before and it could be time for a role reversal. There’s no denying that men and women have very different skin, so all men’s products might not be suitable to pinch but there are some that could have their uses from time to time
Here’s some products in men’s washbags that can work well for women too:
Beauty experts are ahead of the game when it comes to utilising grooming products and they are shouting about it. There was much noise when one of beauty’s best kept secrets was revealed earlier this year. Beauty bloggers and make-up artists alike all affirmed the best make up primer is in fact, men’s shaving balm! Despite many quality options for women on the market it seems lots of the experts have decided this is the best solution. If you’re looking for a product to keep your make up fresh all day, testing the man in your life’s shaving balm might be worthwhile
Professionals use a shaving brush to facilitate the optimum shave for men in salons and barbers. The shaving brush helps generate a low aeration, creamy lather as well as stimulating the skin and raising the beard for a closer shave. Shaving crème will also go much further. The benefit of less aeration is having the most active ingredients of the shave crème, which minimise friction and moisturises the skin.Less resistance also means less irritation, less nicks and a longer lasting blade. Women shaving their legs can benefit from all of the above as well as men. The men-ü PRO BLACK shaving brush is a registered design like nothing else on the market and comes with an ultra-concentrate men-ü Shave Crème. This is one to borrow if you are looking for a smoother finish
Men’s razors are designed to tackle thicker hair. This is why there are more men’s razors available with multiple blades than women’s on the market. The lady with thicker hair looking for a closer and therefore longer lasting result, may want to try a switch. Make sure you ‘borrow’ a new razor as opposed to a more worn used blade for best results!
Much like with razors the major differences between the male and female market are all quite superficial. The main distinction betweenmen’s and women’s deodorant is usually scents. Active ingredients are present in much of the same amounts in some sticks for men and women. If the sweeter, floral smells of the female products aren’t to your taste, or you’ve simply run out, there’s no reason not to switch and try the man in your life’s, you might even prefer it
One downside to serums and finishing creams for hair is the sticky residue left on your hands afterwards. In the morning beauty routine rush, when every minute counts, alleviating handwashing is a great way to save some time. Men’s grooming is ahead of the game in creating a product that liquefies through the hair and leaves no stickiness on hands, EVEN without washing! men-ü LIQUIFFLEX goes from cream to liquid in the hands, providing great, even dispersal through the hair and leaves hands dry to the touch after styling. This lightweight and easily dispersed product is great for women too, creating a nice volume at the roots. A great solution for the daily struggle for fine hair types in a hurry
