At The Movies
Director: Pierre Coffin, Kyle Balda
Cast: Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Allison Janney, Jennifer Saunders, Steve Coogan, Geoffrey Rush, Steve Carell, Pierre Coffin
The film follows Kevin, Bob and Stuart as they go off on an adventure to find a new master and find meaning to their life. After living through the ages and going from one master to the next, they find themselves without a master and sinking into depression and it’s up to Kevin, Bob and Stuart to help their tribe and end up in Orlando and at villain con where they find the most evil masterminds.
There they find their master in the first female supervillain, Scarlett Overkill (Sandra Bullock).
But things begin to go wrong and it’s up to the minions to overcome it in the way only minions can.
Expect to see the minions get themselves into some chaotic situations, mishaps and lots of crazy goings-on. It’s not as good as Despicable Me and its sequel but it’s enjoyable enough and will have you laughing from start to finish.
Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm are brilliant in their villainous counterparts and Sandra proves that she can play a villain well. Jennifer Saunders and Michael Keaton also pop up in small but show stealing roles.
It’s a fast paced film with a more simplistic storyline and more slapstick humour than the first two films which will appeal more to children. Minions is a crazy fun filled ride.
