Ted 2 ★★★
Director: Seth MacFarlane
Cast: Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, Seth MacFarlane, Jessica Barth, Giovanni Ribisi, Patrick Warburton, Sam J. Jones, Morgan Freeman
Set several years after the first film, Ted (Seth MacFarlane) is marrying long-time girlfriend, Tami- Lynn (Jessica Barth). However, their marriage hits a rough patch not long after; therefore they decide to have a baby to fix their marriage. But in order to do so Ted must win his case against the government who have labelled him as property, making him lose his rights as a person and losing nearly everything. Ted will stop at nothing to get back his rights and prove that he is just as much human as everyone else. But an old adversary of his is determined to stop him from getting his rights back at any cost and find out exactly what makes Ted tick.
Thankfully Ted has help in the form of his best friend, John (Mark Wahlberg) and lawyer, Samantha L. Jackson (Amanda Seyfried) who gets close to John who is recently divorced from Lori who was in the first film.
What ensures is two hours of crass humour and gags. Pop culture references pop in every now and then and an occasional swear word. Ted and John find themselves constantly in bad situations and get up to mischief all the time. Ted makes for a loveable character that everyone wants to root for. Ted 2 is a funny film and almost lives up to the first film although expect a few less gags and less mischief.
